Overseas Tampa - American Shipping Company

Overseas Tampa

The Overseas Tampa is the tenth vessel in the original series announced in 2005. After completion, it left the yard in April 2011 under the operation of Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG) to transport crude oil and/or petroleum products. The twelve ship program (ten tankers owned by AMSC and two tankers sold to OSG) was one of the largest commercial ship construction efforts since World War II and has contributed toward making the U.S. fleet more environmentally friendly with the vessel‘s double hull design and cleaner engines.Overseas Tampa was converted in 2014 to become a dedicated shuttle tanker.
